Citroen has unveiled the Basalt Vision SUV-coupe as part of its C-Cubed program. This new model is currently presented as a concept, but it is expected to be launched in the Indian market before the festive season in October 2024.

Design and Features

The Citroen Basalt SUV is similar in design and size to the Citroen C3 Aircross, with a length of approximately 4.3 meters. It features a unique finish insert on the grille, dual-slat grille, and silver-colored skid plate in chrome finish.

The vehicle comes with premium projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and a modern bonnet design. The side profile includes square plastic cladding, pull-type door handles, and alloy wheels with a gun-metal finish.

Interior and Engine

While the company has not released any images of the cabin, it is believed that the interior may resemble that of the C3 Aircross.

The vehicle is expected to be feature-loaded, with amenities such as wireless charging, automatic climate control, push-button start, cruise control, keyless entry, and electric folding mirrors.

The Citroen Basalt SUV may be equipped with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 108bhp, with manual transmission as standard and an optional torque converter automatic unit.

Electric Version and Competition

The electric version of the Basalt Vision SUV-coupe is anticipated to be launched about six months after the petrol version. The Citroen Basalt will compete with the Tata Curve in the market, which is expected to be introduced in the coming months. Both models are set to offer buyers a choice between petrol and electric variants.
