Intensive Checking Campaign in Noida and Ghaziabad
An extensive checking campaign is currently underway in Noida and Ghaziabad, which are located right next to the Delhi border, coinciding with Republic Day. Authorities have completely halted the entry of goods carrier vehicles into Delhi during this time. This restriction is set to remain in effect until 10 PM on January 26th, ensuring that security measures are firmly in place for the celebrations.
Police Deployments and Operations
Since the morning of January 25th, a significant number of police forces have been stationed at key border points, including Noida’s Chilla Border, Kalindi Kunj Border, and Anand Vihar in Ghaziabad. On January 26th, the local police conducted thorough checks at various locations, including the Oyo Hotel and the railway station. According to ACP Kotwali Ritesh Kumar Tripathi, the police are on high alert to ensure that nothing goes wrong during this important day. The ongoing operations aim to maintain a secure environment by inspecting the records of hotel guests and monitoring suspicious individuals at the railway station.
Ongoing Security Measures in Noida
In addition to the border checks, police are actively patrolling popular spots in Noida, such as DLF Mall and GIP Mall, as well as busy areas like Sector 18. The police are not working alone; they are joined by specialized teams, including the Dog Squad and Bomb Squad, who are conducting thorough searches in these areas. The police have been carrying out foot patrols and inspecting vehicles and individuals for several days now. Given that this year’s Republic Day is marked by the Mahakumbh celebration, security personnel are taking extra precautions to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly and safely.
