DelhiDesk: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has discovered a Mauryan well during excavation at Purana Qila in Delhi. The well is believed to be around 3,000 years old and has a roundness of about 70 cm. ASI is considering this discovery as a major success and expects to find many other remains from the well, which could take the history of Indraprastha even further back. Earlier, old kitchen items of the Kushan period, stove, and cob batta were found during the excavation of Purana Qila. The discovery of the Mauryan well is expected to strengthen ASI’s efforts related to the discovery of the Pandava period.
