DelhiDesk At least 356 bone marrow transplants for Thalassemia patients have been carried out successfully under the Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana (TBSY) in India, according to the union health ministry. The TBSY, which began in 2017 under the National Health Mission, has completed its second phase, and its third phase was launched by Bharati Pravin Pawar, union minister of state for health and family welfare, on World Thalassemia Day. Pawar urged partner ministries and other stakeholders to remove stigmas and misconceptions surrounding hereditary diseases such as Thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
