DelhiDesk India’s Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, has said that India will become a major green hydrogen hub and exporter by 2040, serving both domestic and global demand. Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry Annual Session, Puri said energy demand in India would account for 25% of global demand growth in the next 20 years. He added that India needs to address the issues of availability, affordability and sustainability in its energy sector, and that the use of green hydrogen is vital for further success in the country’s energy innovation.
