On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 103 regenerative railway stations across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This initiative aims to modernize Indian Railways and transform over 1,300 railway stations nationwide into modern transport hubs equipped with advanced passenger facilities and regional architectural integration.
103 Stations Across 86 Districts to Undergo Transformation
The newly rehabilitated stations, with an estimated expenditure of approximately Rs 1,100 crore, are located in various states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
List of Rejuvenated Stations
In Maharashtra, the Amrit Bharat stations include Amgaon, Chanda Fort, Chinchpokali, Devalali, Dhule, Kedgaon, Lasalgaon, Lonand Junction, Matunga, Murtijapur, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Junction, Parel, Savada, Shahad, and Vadala Road. Uttar Pradesh will see the inauguration of Balrampur, Bareilly City, Bijnor, Fatehabad, Gola Gokarnanath, Govardhan, Govindpuri, Hathras City, Idgah Agra Junction, Izatnagar, Karchan, Malani Junction, Pukhrayan, Ramghat Halt, Saharanpur Junction, Siddharthnagar, Surmanpur, Swaminarayan Chhapia, and Ujhani.
In Tamil Nadu, the stations include Chidambaram, Kuliturai, Mannargudi, Polar, Samalpatti, Srirangam, St. Thomas Mount, Thiruvannamalai, Vikannamalai, and Vriddhachalam Junction. Gujarat’s Amrit stations comprise Dakor, Derol, Hapa, Jamwantali, Jamjodhpur, Kanalus Junction, Karamsad, Kosambi Junction, Limbdi, Mahuva, Mithapur, Morbi, Okha, Palitana, Rajula Junction, Samakhiali, and Utran Katni South. Additionally, Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh will witness the inauguration of several stations, along with eight stations in Rajasthan including Fatehpur Shekhawati, Deshnok, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Gogamedi, Rajgarh, Govindgarh, and Mandawar-Mahua Road.
Development Projects in Bikaner
During the same visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Bikaner, Rajasthan, to lay the foundation stone for numerous development projects totaling over Rs 26,000 crore. The Prime Minister will first pay homage at the Karni Mata temple in Deshnok and subsequently visit the newly developed Deshnok railway station, which is part of the 103 stations being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Launch of New Train Service
As part of the event, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express train. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, will accompany the Prime Minister throughout the visit. This initiative aims to enhance passenger facilities across railway stations, including provisions for the disabled and designs that reflect local culture.

Notably, the Deshnok station has been designed to reflect local architectural traditions, featuring temple-style arches and decorative columns. Under this initiative, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the 58 km Churu-Sadulpur railway line and dedicate several major railway sections, including Suratgarh (336 km), Phulera-Degana (109 km), Udaipur-Himtanagar (210 km), Phalodi-Jaisalmer (157 km), and Samdari-Badmer (129 km).
