The Transport Commissioner has issued orders making it mandatory to install high security number plates in vehicles purchased before April 1, 2019. Failure to comply will result in heavy fines and seizure of vehicles.

Details of New Traffic Rules

In Tonk district alone, there are over one lakh vehicles without high security number plates, including trucks, cars, bikes, tractors, and autos. Vehicle owners can now apply online to get the plates installed, with fixed rates set by the Transport Department for dealers.

Benefits of HSRP Plates

The introduction of High Security Registration Plates has made it easier for traffic police to catch vehicles violating traffic rules and issue challans. The unique HSRP plates have also reduced cases of vehicle theft, as the plates can only be used once and cannot be tampered with.

Installation Process for Old Vehicles

Vehicle owners can apply online on the portal, enter their vehicle details, and book a date to get the plates installed. The installation dates are based on the last digit of the vehicle’s registration number, with strict actions to be taken against vehicles without HSRP plates after the specified time limit.
