As winter sets in, students usually look forward to their holiday breaks, especially around Christmas and New Year. However, this year, there’s a significant shift in the holiday schedule due to new directives from the Education Department.
Instead of the usual winter break, schools in Himachal Pradesh will remain open until December 31. This decision comes as a surprise to many, who are accustomed to having a lengthy break during this festive season.
Reason Behind Keeping Schools Open
The main reason for this change is to ensure that the exams for non-annual board class students can be conducted smoothly, which will continue until December 23. Following these exams, instead of closing, schools will operate as usual.
Daily prayers and regular classes will be held, and students will receive their mid-meal as they normally would. This approach aims to maintain educational continuity and support students’ learning during the winter months.
Increased Responsibilities for Teachers
With the schools remaining open, teachers are expected to take on additional responsibilities. They will focus on helping students who may be struggling in their studies, addressing any shortcomings during this period. The Education Department has issued clear instructions for teachers to follow, ensuring that they are actively engaged in improving student performance.
