Heavy rains on Tuesday severely affected daily life in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. Due to the torrential downpour, the number of roads closed in the state has reached 126. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the next 24 hours.

⚠️ Yellow Alert Issued ⚠️

The local weather department has issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in different parts of the state over the next two days. In Shimla, the number of closed roads increased to 41 due to heavy rains on Tuesday.

🚧 Road Closures Across the State 🚧

Out of the 126 obstructed roads, Mandi has the highest number with 50 closures, followed by Solan with 12, Kangra with 10, Kullu with six, Sirmaur with four, and one each in Una, Kinnaur, and Lahaul and Spiti districts. On Monday morning, 41 roads were closed, which increased to 126 by Tuesday due to landslides and uprooted trees.

🛠️ Infrastructure Damage Reported 🛠️

Reports of damage to infrastructure, especially roads, have also come from Baddi. Additionally, 1,191 electricity and 27 water supply schemes have been disrupted across the state.

🌡️ Rainfall Statistics 🌡️

From 5 PM Monday to Tuesday evening, many parts of the state witnessed moderate rainfall. Jubbarhatti in Shimla recorded 101 mm of rain, followed by Kaho with 83 mm, Kufri with 73 mm, Shimla with 72.8 mm, and other areas with varying amounts.

📉 Rainfall Deficit and Losses 📉

Since the onset of the monsoon on June 27, Himachal Pradesh has recorded a 23 percent rainfall deficit, with 453.4 mm of rain against an average of 591.8 mm. Rain-related incidents have resulted in 144 deaths and a loss of ₹1,217 crore.

🌡️ Temperature Variations 🌡️

On Tuesday, Narkanda in Shimla district was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 11.4°C, while Una was the hottest with a maximum temperature of 34°C.
