Gurugram is set to expand its metro network with fresh studies. The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation has initiated the process to prepare detailed project reports for two new routes serving Millennium City.
The tender to prepare these DPRs drew participation from a single company, whose bid has been opened. Authorities indicate that the same firm is likely to be awarded the work, subject to procedure.
One of the proposed lines begins near Bhondsi on the Gurugram–Sohna Highway. It will pass Subhash Chowk and Rajiv Chowk, continue through Sadar Bazar and terminate at Gurugram railway station. The corridor length is listed as 17.09 km.
Technical and financial scrutiny of the bid has started. Earlier, the tender was invited two months ago and the technical bid has now been opened. The plan is to finish the report expeditiously and align land and finance details thereafter.
Once the DPR is in hand, alignment, station locations and cost estimates will be finalised formally. This will enable clear timelines for approvals and subsequent construction in the city’s high-demand stretches.
