The alignment of the proposed Greenfield Expressway, which will connect Vrindavan’s Banke Bihari Temple to the Yamuna Expressway, has been modified. Initially set to start at the 101-kilometer point, it will now begin at 102.1 kilometers. Additionally, a 7-kilometer road, running parallel to the Yamuna Expressway, will connect the expressway to NH-44, as proposed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Key Changes and Benefits:
- Loop Connectivity: Travelers coming from Faridabad will benefit from direct connectivity to the Greenfield Expressway via a loop, making the commute smoother and faster.
- The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will now be responsible for constructing this expressway, which was earlier under the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Authority.
Installation of Krishna and Balarama Statues:
- The expressway, spanning 753 acres, will feature 20-meter-tall statues of Lord Krishna and Balarama along its route.
- The Yamuna Authority will prepare a gateway to Vrindavan, enhancing the religious and cultural appeal of the region with these statues, located near the cut that leads to the temple.
Key Features:
- The expressway will have a total length of 14 kilometers.
- It will be a six-lane expressway, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
- The expressway will connect Greater Noida to the Yamuna Expressway and also provide access from Faridabad, easing traffic congestion.
