The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has officially submitted the revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Greater Noida West Metro to the Central Government, seeking their approval to move forward.
Once the green light is given, construction will kick off, and this new metro line is expected to significantly benefit the residents of Greater Noida West. With many people eagerly anticipating this development, the project is poised to improve daily commutes for countless individuals.
Details of the Metro Route
The UP Cabinet recently approved the revised DPR for this metro route, which will feature 11 stations spanning approximately 17 kilometers. The estimated cost for this project is around Rs 3,000 crores.
Originally, the NMRC submitted the DPR to the UP government on February 5 for initial approval. This line will serve as an extension of the Aqua Line, which currently runs from Sector-51 to the Greater Noida Depot. With the new route, officials anticipate a reduction in traffic congestion along the heavily used 130-meter road.
Connectivity With Delhi Metro.
Officials expect that about 1.25 lakh passengers will utilize this metro line when it begins operations. After nearly a decade of public demand for metro service in this area, there is a sense of relief among residents. Abhishek Kumar, the President of Nephova, emphasizes that the metro’s introduction will alleviate traffic woes for those living in Greater Noida West.
Additionally, an interchange station will be established at Sector-61, seamlessly connecting the Blue Metro line from Delhi with the Aqua Metro line heading toward Greater Noida West, allowing passengers to switch lines without having to disembark.
