Greater Noida: New Bridge Preparations
Preparations are ramping up to connect Greater Noida with a new bridge over the Yamuna River, which is being built in Mandawali village, Faridabad. To facilitate this, a connecting road will be constructed. However, there are some delays in land acquisition for the road since the area borders Haryana.
Compensation for Farmers
The district administration plans to acquire 6.5 hectares of land for the construction. A list of around 40 farmers has been prepared to receive compensation at a rate of Rs 3720 per square meter. So far, 25 farmers have begun receiving compensation in the first phase.
Benefits of the Connecting Road
The new road will stretch approximately 6 kilometers and will significantly ease travel from Faridabad to Delhi and Noida. This will be particularly beneficial for employed individuals and students, as they will save time on their daily commutes.
Kalindi Kunj Road Expansion
In another development, both the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments have approved the widening of the Faridabad-Kalindi Kunj road. This road will connect Sector-65 to the Agra Canal via an elevated bridge in Sector-37, and it will be developed into a 20-kilometer, 6-lane road.
Project Costs and Impact
The total expenditure for this project is estimated at Rs 278 crore. The district administration believes that once this road is completed, travel between Faridabad, Delhi, and Noida will be much smoother. This will help reduce traffic congestion and could also have a positive impact on local business and the economy.
