Repair Work Planned for Dadri Rupbas Bypass
The Greater Noida Authority is set to undertake repair work on the Dadri Rupbas bypass, which connects to the GT Road. A detailed report on the condition of this road has been prepared and sent to the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) for evaluation. The repair work will commence once the investigation report from CRRI is received. The estimated cost for the repairs is around 6 crore rupees.
Condition of the Road
The Dadri Rupbas bypass was initially built to provide direct access to the GT Road near the railway overbridge on the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) Road. Unfortunately, due to a lack of maintenance, the road has deteriorated significantly, with deep pits appearing in many areas. The section near Roopbas Golchakkar is particularly damaged, and there are also deep pits along the stretch towards GT Road.
Reason for Repairs
The Public Works Department originally constructed the bypass, but the poor condition of the road has led to difficulties for commuters, especially heavy vehicles. This bypass is crucial as it serves as a key route for trucks coming from the Tilapata container depot. These vehicles use it to access GT Road and continue to cities like Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, and Aligarh. Repairing this road will greatly benefit thousands of daily users.
Next Steps
Following the recommendations from CRRI, the authority will issue tenders for the repair work. The length of the bypass is approximately 3.83 km, with 2.880 km built on authority land. The remaining 0.950 km is currently pending legal proceedings, but alternate routes have been created on NTPC land. Discussions are ongoing with the Ministry of Commerce and the Container Corporation to secure funding for the construction of the 0.950 km stretch on the authority’s land.
In summary, the Greater Noida Authority is making efforts to ensure that the Dadri Rupbas bypass is repaired soon, improving traffic flow and safety for all road users.
