Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express train on Saturday, June 3 at 10:30 am. This will be the 19th Vande Bharat Express train in the country and will run from Madgaon in Goa to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. The indigenously built train, which is equipped with advanced safety features and world-class facilities, will promote tourism in both states while also realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Here are some key details about the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express:
Travel time
The train is expected to cover the distance between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station in about seven and a half hours, faster than the current fastest train connecting the two places. This will help save time for passengers.
Stations
The Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat train will stop at the following stations: CSMT, Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Thivim, and Madgaon. Maintenance of the train will be done on Fridays, so it will not run on that day.
Expansion plans
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has stated that by June 15, 2023, every state in the country will have a Vande Bharat train. Work is ongoing to achieve this goal, and the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express is set to start operating by the end of June.
The Vande Bharat Express trains, which are completely made in India, are a symbol of the country’s technological prowess and innovation. They offer passengers a safe, comfortable, and efficient mode of transportation, while also promoting tourism and economic growth in the regions they serve.
