The Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has announced plans to develop picnic spots around 18 metro stations along the Old Gurugram Metro Route. This initiative aims to enhance the experience of commuters and provide recreational spaces, modeled after similar successful projects near metro stations in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Out of the 27 stations on the Old Gurugram Metro route, 18 have been identified for this special development. Some of the key stations included in this project are:
- Sector-47
- Subhash Chowk
- Sector-72A
- Basai Village
These stations will be equipped with facilities that make them attractive leisure destinations, creating a community-friendly environment around the metro infrastructure.
Court Orders Removal of Barriers in Proposed Film City
In another significant development, the Allahabad High Court has directed the Yamuna Expressway Authority to remove the fencing that was set up without acquiring or purchasing agricultural land from farmers in Sector-11 of Gautam Buddh Nagar for the proposed Film City. The court’s directive came after a petition filed by farmers from Rabupura village in Jewar Tehsil, who challenged the unauthorized occupation of their land.
The court, comprising Justice MK Gupta and Justice Manish Kumar Nigam, issued these orders while disposing of the petition, providing relief to the affected farmers.
This ruling is a critical development in the ongoing discussions around land acquisition for the much-anticipated Film City near Noida.
