Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Recovers ₹200 Crore Land In Dundahera Amid Protests, Plans Development Projects To Prevent Future Encroachments.

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Evacuates Land in Dundahera

On Monday, the property department of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation took control of a 40,000 square meter piece of land in Dundahera, located near Crossing Republic. The estimated value of this land is around 200 crores. For a long time, many individuals had been farming on this land, claiming ownership.

To clear the land, the corporation team used JCBs and tractors, despite facing protests from the farmers. The area had been previously cleared by the corporation, but people returned and resumed farming activities, growing crops like mustard and wheat.

Protests and Police Intervention

The operation to remove the crops led to a significant uproar as the corporation team faced strong opposition. The police were called to the scene to mediate and calm the protesters. After discussions, the removal of the crops proceeded, and the land was finally vacated.

According to Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Yadav, the land was under khasra numbers 122, 123, 129, 304, 305, 306/7, 307, and 308. The occupants had claimed leases, but these were invalidated by the SDM court. Yadav mentioned that those who contested the eviction in High Court had also lost their case.

Future Plans for the Vacant Land

Mayor Sunita Dayal announced plans to develop several projects on the newly vacated land. She emphasized that these projects would not only prevent future occupations but also provide benefits to the city’s residents while boosting the corporation’s income. The Mayor instructed officials to file cases against those who attempt to reoccupy the land.

Additionally, she personally inspected the site following complaints regarding land occupation and directed the corporation officials to take necessary actions against the encroachers.

Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik confirmed that the 40,000 square meters of land in Dundahera had been cleared, noting that the individuals who were farming there had lost their legal battles in court.
