Ghaziabad Authority Board Meeting Highlights
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) held a crucial board meeting in Meerut, chaired by Dr. Rishikesh Bhaskar Yashod. In this meeting, 12 out of 14 proposals were approved, while the remaining two will be discussed in the next meeting.
Implementation to Speed Up
The board decided to accelerate the implementation of key proposals. Some notable approvals include issuing notices to collect dues from the authority’s area across 15 zones within three months, allowing petrol pumps on smaller plots, and issuing notices related to plots in Vaishali.
Vaishali Plots Notice Issuance
The GDA plans to issue notices to allottees of the Vaishali plots. As per the new Master Plan 2031, the authority area will now be divided into 15 zones instead of the previous eight. The board has approved a survey of the area and the appointment of an advisor through e-tender.
Financial Recovery from Allottees
A proposal was approved to recover around ₹200 crores from the allottees of Vaishali plots, with a rate set at ₹2,400 per square meter. The GDA will conduct a survey of the plots and issue notices to the allottees. If the amount is not paid within three months, defaulters will face penalties.
Concerns Raised by GDA Member
During the meeting, GDA member Pawan Goyal raised concerns about the construction of fire stations and related facilities in the township, emphasizing that builders have not met their commitments.
New Petrol Pump Regulations
The board approved a significant change allowing petrol pumps to be opened on smaller plots. Previously, a minimum plot size of 30×17 square meters was required, but this has now been reduced to 20×20 square meters. The buffer zone for vehicle entry and exit has also been decreased.
Women’s Hostel Lease Approved
A proposal to lease the Suryanagar women’s hostel to the Women’s Welfare Department for just ₹1 was passed. This facility, which has been closed, will now be maintained by the department.
Indraprastha Yojana Developments
In the Indraprastha Yojana, a builder’s request to create a multi-resident unit instead of group housing was approved, with some amendments. Suggestions and objections regarding this proposal will be invited.
Road Width Adjustment
The board decided to reduce the width of the Hindon Air Force Station Crossing Road from Mohan Nagar crossing from 75 meters to 30 meters. This change is expected to ease the approval process for maps in the area.
Financial Proposals Approved
The board accepted proposals regarding the approval of the balance sheet for the financial year 2023-24 and the capital expenditure for the financial year 2025-26.
Future Building Audits
A proposal for conducting an audit of multi-storey buildings every three years after handover was discussed but did not receive approval.
