The EV5 is based on the e-GMP platform, a dedicated EV framework shared with Hyundai models. In China, the EV5 features a 64.2 kWh battery pack connected to a 160-kW electric motor. This battery pack, equipped with LFP chemical and manufactured by BYD in China, offers a certified range of 530 km.
The long-range variant of the EV5 includes an 88-kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 720 km. Both models are equipped with a similar 160 kW electric motor. The pricing for the long-range model hasn’t been disclosed yet. Earlier this year, Kia announced a long-range AWD model, but it’s unclear if this variant will be available in China.
