Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce a new addition to its lineup, the Tata Curvv, a sub-4m SUV that promises to redefine the segment with its unique coupe-like profile.

The Curvv is poised to compete with some of the finest SUVs in the Indian market, offering a fresh option for consumers looking for vehicles that stand out on the roads.

Distinct Design Philosophy

The Curvv distinguishes itself from the outset with its special coupe-like profile, a design choice that sets it apart in the compact SUV segment. It is the first Tata car to feature flush-size door handles, enhancing its aerodynamic styling—a feature that can also be found in models like the Seltos, hinting at a trend towards sleeker design elements in the SUV category.

Updated Front Fascia

The production model of the Curvv has seen its design updated from the concept model, borrowing stylistic elements from the Harrier and Nexon to create a blend that is both familiar and new. This approach helps in reducing development and production costs, though it may leave those expecting an entirely new front fascia slightly disappointed.

Equipped with Advanced Features

Tata Motors aims to pack the Curvv with features that exceed expectations, including premium offerings like the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The SUV will be equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a full-size digital instrument cluster, voice commands, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display (HUD), and Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel adorned with a large logo. A comprehensive list of connectivity features will also be available, enhancing the driving experience.

Engine and Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the Curvv is expected to share its engine powertrain with the Nexon, featuring a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that could be tuned to produce up to 125ps power and 225nm torque—a slight increase from the Nexon’s current output of 120ps power and 170nm torque.

Additionally, a 1.5-liter diesel engine option will be available, capable of delivering 115ps power and 260nm torque. An electric model of the Curvv will also be offered, catering to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
