Monsoon Progress IMD Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Tuesday that the southwest monsoon is advancing rapidly and is expected to cover the entire North India soon. This will bring a significant drop in temperatures and relief from the intense heatwave.

 

Regions to be Affected in the Coming Days

Potentially Affected Areas: If conditions remain favorable, the monsoon is expected to reach Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, northern parts of Punjab, northern parts of Haryana, and Delhi in the next 3-4 days.

Rain in Delhi: In the national capital, Delhi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The weather department has forecast light rain or drizzle. Cloudy skies and strong winds blowing at a speed of 25-35 kilometers per hour are expected. The heat index for the next 48 hours is predicted to be between 48 and 50 degrees Celsius.

General Monsoon Progress

Monsoon in Gujarat: The southwest monsoon typically enters Gujarat around June 15 and advances to Ahmedabad and parts of Saurashtra by June 20. It reaches most parts of Saurashtra by June 25 and covers the entire state by June 30.
