The South Korean automaker is set to enrich its product offering with the launch of the new Carnival MPV and the EV9 electric SUV in the second half of 2024. The Carnival will be available in 4/7/9-seater configurations, while the EV9 will offer 6/7-seater options, catering to a diverse range of consumer needs.
2024 Kia Carnival Facelift: Enhanced Design and Features
The 2024 Kia Carnival will undergo significant cosmetic and interior upgrades. The facelifted MPV will feature a more upright front design, a wide grille with chrome accents, and L-shaped DRL-equipped headlamps.
Notably, the vehicle will sport 19-inch alloy wheels similar to those on the EV5 and EV9. Interior enhancements include a curved infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch screens, modernized air conditioning and audio controls, and several high-tech additions such as a digital rearview mirror and an updated digital key.
Powertrains:
The global version offers a 3.5-liter petrol engine, a 1.6-liter petrol hybrid, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine, though specifications for the Indian market remain undisclosed.
Kia EV9: A Bold Entry into the Luxury EV Segment
The EV9, part of Kia’s 2.0 transformation strategy, will enter the Indian market as a fully imported vehicle. Positioned above the EV6, it is set to rival luxury EVs from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.
Built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 will boast advanced technology such as a Level 3 ADAS suite, a 12.3-inch driver display, and luxurious amenities including a 14-speaker Meridian sound system and three-zone climate control.
Powertrains and Charging:
The EV9 will offer multiple powertrain options including a 76.1 kWh battery with RWD, a 99.8 kWh battery with RWD, and a dual-motor AWD setup. It will support both fixed and portable charging solutions, featuring vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
