The Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojana was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, as a part of the government’s initiative to install solar panels on the rooftops of 1 crore homes. This move is set to significantly cut down electricity costs for numerous households.
Families with an annual income of up to 1.5 lakh rupees are eligible to benefit from this scheme. This initiative is designed to include those households that earn up to 12,500 rupees per month, making sustainable energy accessible to a larger segment of the population.
Application Process and Required Documents:
Interested families need to undergo an application process, which can be done online. Registration is mandatory and can be completed at https://www.solarrooftop.gov.in/. Essential documents for the application include Aadhar card, address proof, electricity bill, income certificate, mobile number, bank passbook, and passport size photos.
Verification and Documentation:
Following the application, a verification process will be conducted to examine the documents provided. Incorrect or fraudulent documents may lead to the cancellation of the application, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in the application process.
