FlixBus, the Germany-based travel-tech company, announced its expansion into Southern India on September 3. The company is set to begin its services from Bengaluru to Chennai and Hyderabad starting from September 10, 2024.
The announcement took place at the Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru, where MB Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Commerce & Industries and Infrastructure, flagged off the route to Chennai. This event was attended by key FlixBus leaders, including Max Zeumer, COO, and Daniel Krauss, Co-founder.
“We welcome FlixBus not only as a foreign investor in Karnataka but also as a partner in our journey toward sustainability,” stated Minister MB Patil during the launch.
Expansion Plans and New Routes
Following the initial routes to Chennai and Hyderabad, FlixBus plans to extend its services to:
- Coimbatore
- Madurai
- Tirupati
- Vijayawada
- Belagavi
This expansion is a significant step in FlixBus’s aim to revolutionize intercity travel across India.
Special Promotional Fare
To celebrate the launch, FlixBus is offering an introductory fare of ₹99 for the new routes around Bengaluru. The promotional offer is valid for bookings made between September 3 to September 15, with travel dates available from September 10 to October 6.
