The buzz around India’s popular train, Vande Bharat, isn’t just limited to the railways; passengers are equally thrilled. The Railway Ministry is planning to launch the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train soon.
Reports indicate that this new service will run between Secunderabad and Pune. This sleeper service is expected to significantly enhance comfort and speed for long-distance travel.
Modern Amenities on Board
According to India.com, the new trains are being manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), with a launch expected by the end of this year.
These sleeper trains will feature modern amenities such as sensor-based lighting, improved soundproofing, automatic doors, and small pantries in each coach.
Additionally, they will include wheelchair-accessible sleepers, comfortable bunk beds, anti-spill washbasins, and bathrooms equipped with odor control systems.
Part of Indian Railways’ Bigger Plan
The Vande Bharat trains are part of Indian Railways’ larger initiative to enhance passenger convenience and reduce travel time by increasing the number of semi-high-speed rail services across the country.
The new sleeper train service in Secunderabad is a significant part of this modernization plan. Currently, the Shatabdi Express on this route takes about 8 hours and 25 minutes. The new Vande Bharat Sleeper could eventually replace the Shatabdi Express, offering quicker travel times for passengers.
Awaiting Schedule and Stops
The schedule and stops for the Secunderabad-Pune Vande Bharat Sleeper Train have not been finalized yet, as the railway authorities are still preparing for its launch. Officials have stated that the exact timetable and stops will be announced once the service is ready to go live.
