Failure to do so may result in having to pay the fee again.

The US Embassy in Mumbai reported that it is currently processing visas with no wait time. In the past month, the embassy processed over 900,000 non-immigrant visas and expects to surpass one million soon. Efforts to streamline the visa process include Prime Minister Modi’s announcement in June allowing H-1B visa holders to renew without leaving the country, as well as plans to open new consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.
