ED conducts raids at AAP leader Amanatullah’s residence as part of an ongoing investigation.

After the arrest of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is facing another problem. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the premises of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan. The ED team reached the MLA’s residence on Tuesday morning. The Central Investigation Agency has conducted this raid in a case related to money laundering.

Amanatullah Khan is the Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Okhla and has been accused of corruption. ACB had also arrested him in a case. It is being told that ED has initiated action on the basis of the case registered against Amanatullah Khan by Delhi Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This case is related to recruitment irregularities in Delhi Waqf Board, of which Amanatullah is the chairman.

Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, ED raided Amanatullah Khan’s residence in Okhla and some other places. Okhla MLA Amanatullah has been in the headlines several times due to controversies. He was arrested by ACB last year. Later he got bail. Amanatullah’s hideouts have been raided at a time when AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by the same agency last week. Sanjay Singh was arrested after a day-long raid at his residence in a liquor scam case. He is currently on ED remand.
