The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is introducing a digital upgrade to make bus travel more convenient. Passengers will now be able to purchase tickets using UPI payments directly through newly installed Electronic Point of Sale (e-PoS) machines on buses.
These smart e-PoS machines will not only allow digital payments but also come equipped with GPS tracking, enabling authorities to monitor bus locations in real time. This will improve efficiency and help track bus routes accurately.
A key highlight is that Pink Tickets for women passengers will also be issued through these machines, making the process smoother and completely digital.
According to DTC officials, the pilot project will first roll out at Tantri Hastnapur, Kalkaji, and Rajghat Depot-2. Gradually, it will be expanded to all buses across Delhi.
The initiative is part of the city government’s Seva Pakhwada campaign, launching on 17 September, and aims to modernize public transport while reducing dependency on cash transactions.
