DMRC Launches Encroachment Removal Drive near Red Fort and Chandni Chowk Metro Stations

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a drive against encroachments near Red Fort and Chandni Chowk metro stations. The encroachment campaign is being carried out in view of the G-20 summit meeting to be held in September. Under this, any encroachment around the metro station is being removed.

Expansion:

DMRC informed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, NDMC, Delhi Development Authority, and Delhi Police are also involved in this campaign. In this, it will be ensured that passengers do not face any problem in reaching the metro stations. On Monday, encroachments were removed from around Gate No. 5 of Lal Qila Metro station and two and Chandni Chowk metro stations. The DMRC official told that this campaign will run till June 17.

The move is aimed at easing the flow of traffic and ensuring the safety of passengers. The encroachments have been obstructing the movement of people and vehicles in the area. DMRC has also requested the public to cooperate with them and not to indulge in any kind of encroachment in the vicinity of the metro stations.
