## Deaths During Workout:
The unfortunate trend of heart attacks occurring during workouts has become a cause for concern, even among young gym-goers. Earlier this year in September, a 19-year-old youth died after collapsing due to cardiac arrest while running on a treadmill at a gym in Ghaziabad. The incident was captured on video. Similarly, in January, a 55-year-old man died after a workout session at a gym in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. CCTV footage showed the moment when the man collapsed.
Heart diseases and heart attacks in India are on the rise, affecting not just older individuals but also a younger demographic. Factors such as post-Covid complications, air pollution, and unhealthy lifestyles contribute to this surge. According to Dr. Zeeshan Mansuri, a consultant interventional cardiologist at Narayana Hospital, Ahmedabad, there has been an increase in the number of young patients experiencing heart attacks. Dr. Bimal Chhajer, senior cardiologist and director of SAAOL Heart Centre, New Delhi, has also observed a rise in both young and middle-aged individuals seeking treatment for heart-related symptoms.
Sudden heart attacks during physical activities like exercise can have various causes, including pre-existing medical conditions, physical exertion, and environmental factors.
