According to the Regional Meteorological Center, Delhi received 0.5 mm of rain on Sunday morning, leading to a slight respite from the heat. Despite this, the maximum temperature was still one degree above normal at 38.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was three notches below normal at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
The Met department predicts that the mercury will remain high in Delhi on Monday, extending the ongoing heat wave in the city. However, relief is expected on June 15, when showers are expected to bring the much-needed respite from the scorching heat.
