With rising pollution levels, Delhi schools have started implementing precautionary measures to protect students’ health. After Diwali, schools are considering online classes for younger students. Changes in weather have also impacted student attendance, as more children are falling ill. On Thursday, a school in Mayur Vihar Phase 3 distributed masks to students, and students were encouraged to pledge not to burn firecrackers during Diwali.

Raising Awareness: The Principal of Mount Abu Public School in Rohini, Jyoti Arora, said that students are being made aware of the dangers of pollution. She also mentioned that the school is hosting national sports events while ensuring that all necessary precautions related to pollution are taken within the school premises.

Health Concerns Among Younger Students: The Principal of Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School in Vikaspuri, Pallavi Sharma, stated that younger students are falling ill, and pollution might be one of the reasons. While the school has not stopped outdoor activities yet, the prolonged rainy season this year had left the fields wet, reducing the time students could engage in sports.
