The Delhi government has given the green light to the extension of the Rithala-Narela Metro Corridor under Delhi Metro Phase-4. This corridor, which was originally planned to be 22 kilometers long, will now be extended to Kundli-Nathupura in Haryana, making the total length 26.46 kilometers. The Delhi Transport Minister, Kailash Gahlot, announced this development on Wednesday and mentioned that the project will now be sent for approval from the central government. Once the approval is received, construction will commence.

Political Criticism on Delays

He accused the Delhi government of delaying permissions and funding, which led to delays in Phase-3 projects as well. Sachdeva stated that similar issues may cause further delays in Phase-4, holding the Delhi government responsible.

The Delhi Metro Phase-4 includes six corridors, out of which five have already been approved. The Rithala-Narela Corridor was the last to receive approval. Now, with the extension into Haryana, it will improve connectivity for commuters between Delhi and Haryana.
