On Saturday afternoon, very strong winds at 74 km/h hit Delhi and nearby areas. It caused trees to fall, roofs to fly off, and chaos on the roads.

There was hot sun in the morning, but after 2 PM, the sky turned cloudy. Soon, strong dust storms and rain started in many parts of Delhi. This gave relief from the hot weather.
🌧️ Mayur Vihar Got Highest Rain
Mayur Vihar weather station recorded 12.5 mm rain, and Ridge area got 7.8 mm rain. This sudden weather change brought down the heat.
🧱 3 Workers Died in Wall Collapse
In two different places in Delhi, walls fell due to the storm. Three workers died and some were injured. One accident happened in Nabi Karim and the other in Shahbad Dairy area.
🚗 Cars, Bikes Stuck During Storm
People stuck in cars and bikes had a hard time. A tree fell on a car, but people inside escaped safely. Bikers and auto drivers had no place to hide during sudden rain.
🛤️ Namo Bharat Station Roof Flew Away
At New Ashok Nagar station, the tin roof and stairs shed flew away due to strong winds. Train services were stopped from that station. The station had opened just 4 months ago.
🚆 Train Service Stopped From Ashok Nagar
Due to the damage, Namo Bharat trains are now running only from Meerut South to Anand Vihar. Service from Ashok Nagar is stopped until further notice.
🌦️ 5 Days of Dust Storm and Rain Ahead
IMD (weather department) says Delhi will have dust storms and rain for the next 5 days (May 18 to 23). Wind speed may go up to 50 km/h. Temperatures will stay between 37 to 40°C.

The same weather will be seen in NCR areas like Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurgaon. People will get some relief from heat, but storms may cause problems.
