Exciting news for Ghaziabad residents! The Yogi government has made a significant decision regarding the city’s infrastructure. The Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam has decided to rename a 10-kilometer-long elevated road that connects Rajnagar Extension to UP Gate, and it will now be called ‘Ram Setu.’
🏛️ Mayor’s Announcement
Mayor Sunita Dayal revealed that the road will be inaugurated under its new name. This decision was taken by the executive committee of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC).
🛣️ Road Construction Details
This elevated road, initially conceptualized during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party, began construction in 2014 under the administration of then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Completion of the road construction occurred in 2017, and its inauguration was conducted by the BJP.
💰 Investment in Infrastructure
Approximately 1,147 crore rupees were invested in the construction of this 10-kilometer-long elevated road. This project has greatly benefited commuters traveling between Delhi and Meerut, providing them with enhanced convenience and connectivity.
