The Namo Bharat station, a pivotal development in the Delhi-Meerut express route, is set to significantly reduce the travel time between Noida and Ghaziabad. This development is a major boon for commuters, promising to ease travel and save time.
Key Highlights
- Reduced Travel Time: The Namo Bharat station is expected to cut down the journey time between Noida and Ghaziabad substantially. Currently, the trip involves passing through ten stations from Anand Vihar to New Ashok Nagar. With the new station, this distance can be covered in just three minutes, a significant reduction from the current 27 minutes.
- New Foot Over Bridges (FOBs): To improve connectivity around the station, two new FOBs are being constructed. These bridges will enhance accessibility and ease for passengers traveling to and from the surrounding areas.
- Trial Phase: The station, which is under construction near New Ashok Nagar, is expected to undergo trials in the next four months. This phase is crucial for testing the efficiency and readiness of the station for public use.
- Direct Connection from Anand Vihar: The Namo Bharat track will provide a direct connection from Anand Vihar to New Ashok Nagar, bypassing several intermediate stations. This direct route is a key factor in reducing the overall travel time.
- 90-Meter Long FOB for Metro Station Connection: A 90-meter long and 6-meter wide FOB is being constructed to connect the Ashok Nagar RRTS station with the existing Ashok Nagar Metro station. This connection will facilitate seamless intermodal transfers for commuters.
- Enhanced Area Connectivity: The RRTS station will also be connected to nearby areas like Chilla village and Mayur Vihar Extension through a 42-meter long and 6.5-meter wide FOB. Additionally, a 45-meter long and 8-meter wide FOB will be constructed near the ancient Shiv temple for the convenience of residents in the New Ashok Nagar area.
Skipping Intermediate Stations:
The Namo Bharat service will allow commuters to skip stations like Karkardooma, Preet Vihar, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Yamuna Bank, Akshardham, and Mayur Vihar phases, which are currently part of the route from Anand Vihar to New Ashok Nagar.
Route Coverage:
The Namo Bharat train in Delhi will run up to Anand Vihar, New Ashok Nagar, and Sarai Kale Khan, covering a crucial part of the city and enhancing connectivity.
