Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a significant step towards improving last-mile connectivity for passengers by planning to introduce 683 additional electric autos (E-Autos). This move aims to make travel from metro stations to final destinations more convenient and environmentally friendly.

- Application from Operators: ๐ DMRC has called for applications from auto operating agencies.
- Feeder Service Range: ๐ฃ๏ธ These E-Autos will serve as feeder services within an 8-kilometer radius of metro stations.

- Permits for Women Drivers: ๐ฉโ๐ DMRC, in accordance with the Delhi Government’s Transport Department, has allocated 2299 E-Auto permits. Out of these, 1636 are in the general category, and 663 are reserved for women drivers.

๐ GPS-Equipped E-Autos:
- Pilot Project Success: ๐ฏ DMRC has already signed agreements with private agencies for operating 1616 E-Autos under a pilot project. Hundreds of E-Autos are already operational in areas like Dwarka, Chattarpur, and Central Delhi.
- The Next Phase: ๐ For the operation of the remaining 683 E-Autos, DMRC has initiated the appointment of private agencies, including 137 autos to be driven by women.
- GPS Tracking: ๐ฐ๏ธ As per DMRC’s requirements, these E-Autos will be equipped with GPS systems.
