Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a significant step towards enhancing the convenience of its passengers by announcing a free shuttle service from Central Secretariat and Shivaji Stadium Metro stations to Amrit Udyan, located at the President’s Estate.

This initiative coincides with the opening of Amrit Udyan to the public from February 2 to March 31, 2024, excluding Mondays for maintenance.

Free Shuttle Service:

DMRC aims to facilitate easy access to Amrit Udyan, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of this historic garden without any transportation hassles.

Amrit Udyan’s Opening:

Previously known as the Mughal Garden, Amrit Udyan will be open to the public, offering a glimpse into its splendid floral diversity and thematic beauty. This year’s theme revolves around a tulip-adorned garden, expected to be the main attraction.

Presidential Inauguration:

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the “Udyan Utsav 2024” at Amrit Udyan, marking the beginning of this year’s public viewing season. Each opening of Amrit Udyan is based on a specific theme, enhancing its appeal and drawing visitors to its thematic and signature gardens.

A Historical Marvel:

Amrit Udyan, spreading over 15 acres within the President’s Estate, is often referred to as the soul of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. With a history as rich as its flora, the garden was renamed from Mughal Garden to Amrit Udyan, reflecting its evolution over time. A notable feature is a Sheesham tree, which is about 225 years old, adding to the garden’s historical significance.

Floral Attractions:

Starting from the Long Garden, visitors are led to the Circular Garden, where an array of tulip varieties awaits. The garden’s roses, in shades of red, yellow, pink, green, and blue, are particularly captivating, drawing numerous visitors each year.
