Delhi Bus Service: New Routes Launched

The Delhi Transport Corporation has started bus services on 12 new routes to improve connectivity in the city. This initiative is expected to benefit the residents of western and outer Delhi significantly. The buses, known as Devi buses, are electric and come equipped with features like reserved seats for women and security cameras.

Increased Connectivity

The new bus routes aim to enhance last mile connectivity, making travel easier for the people. Currently, there are 400 Devi buses in operation across Delhi, with plans to increase this number to 2080 by the end of the year.

• Jhadoda Burdan from Kalandin Nagar to Najafgarh Jharoda crossing
• Kamruddin Nagar to Rajdhani College Raja Garden
• Qamaruddin Nagar to Punjabi Bagh Terminal
• Kamaruddin Nagar to Uttam Nagar Terminal

Bus Features

The Devi buses are mini electric buses designed to cover routes of about 12 kilometers, allowing for more trips throughout the day. Each bus has 23 seats, with six pink seats specifically reserved for women. They can be fully charged in just 45 minutes and can travel approximately 225 kilometers on a full charge. For safety, CCTV cameras and panic buttons have been installed in each bus.
