Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Launches Internship Program
On Monday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta introduced the ‘Developed Delhi Chief Minister Internship Program’. This initiative aims to provide the youth of Delhi with an opportunity to work closely with the Delhi government. The government has stated that this internship will help the youth understand the challenges of governance and offer them a platform to develop solutions. Each intern will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 20,000 for a duration of three months.
A Step Towards Youth Empowerment
The Chief Minister described this program as a historic initiative that empowers the youth to play a significant role in shaping the future of Delhi. Under this program, 150 talented individuals will be selected to work alongside various departments, senior officials, and on ground-level projects of the Delhi government for three months.
Transparent Selection Process
The selection process has been designed to be transparent and authentic, ensuring that the best youth leaders are chosen. Initially, candidates must apply online, where their thinking, leadership skills, civic approach, and understanding of administration will be assessed.
Following this, 300 shortlisted candidates will be invited to a one-day camp, where 150 youth will be selected through discussions, workshops, and a final essay writing exercise. An additional aim of this program is to create ambassadors for a developed Delhi.
MLA Lounge Reopened in Delhi Secretariat
In another development, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the newly constructed MLA Lounge at the Delhi Secretariat on the same day. This lounge, which had been closed for several years, will provide public representatives with a well-equipped, quiet, and convenient environment to carry out their duties more effectively.
Commitment to Effective Governance
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Delhi government is dedicated to making the work of its MLAs more straightforward and efficient. She noted that previous governments focused on separation rather than dialogue, which led to the lounge’s closure. However, this government aims to change that. The reopened lounge will facilitate better communication between MLAs and officials, helping to organize meetings and expedite solutions to local issues.
