Delhi, the national capital, is set to introduce WhatsApp-based ticketing for buses, following the model of Delhi Metro. Officials state that the Delhi government is planning to initiate a WhatsApp-based bus ticket service for both DTC and cluster buses.
Digital Ticketing System Expansion 📱
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) already has a WhatsApp-based ticketing service, implemented in May this year, extending it to all corridors, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro and Rapid Transit System.
Ticket Limitations and Process 🎫
However, the upcoming bus ticket service will have a limit on the number of tickets that users can generate. Unlike the metro, where passengers purchase tickets by sending a ‘Hi’ text to +91 9650855800 or scanning the QR code, the bus service will impose restrictions on ticket generation.
Cancellation Not Supported ❌
Tickets acquired through WhatsApp cannot be canceled. Additionally, transactions made through credit or debit cards incur charges, while UPI-based transactions remain free of service fees.
Hassle-Free Commuting with WhatsApp Tickets 🚀
With the introduction of WhatsApp-based ticketing for DTC buses, commuters will experience hassle-free ticket booking, avoiding crowds and securing their travel tickets conveniently before embarking on their journeys.
