Increased Pollution Checking Fees Implemented in New Delhi

Vehicle owners in Delhi will now have to pay higher fees for pollution checks on their vehicles. After the strike by the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, the government has now issued a notification to set new rates. The operators of all pollution checking centers in Delhi have already started implementing the new rates. For two-wheelers, owners will now have to pay an additional 15 rupees, for four-wheelers running on petrol, 35 rupees, and for diesel vehicles, 47 rupees. Earlier and current rates: 60 140 110 100 80 80 for two-wheelers, petrol or CNG four-wheelers, and diesel four-wheelers (figures in rupees, 18% GST will be charged separately on increased rates). The Delhi Petrol Dealers Association demanded an increase in fees due to the rising costs of operating pollution checking centers. According to Bibek Banerjee, Secretary-General of the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, a notification was issued by the Delhi Transport Department on August 20. The new rates came into effect the following day.
