Two families clashed over a parking dispute in Welcome area of north-east Delhi on Sunday night. The argument between the families turned violent, and a crowd gathered from both sides. The fight turned into a full-blown clash, with lathi-sticking and stone pelting. Five people, including a woman, were injured in the attack.

Details of the Incident

According to reports, a youth named Javed (34) was parking his car outside Parvez’s (42) house. On refusing, Javed started quarreling with Parvez. A crowd gathered during the altercation between the two, and later, there was stone pelting. Parvez, his son Danish and sister Gulshan, along with Javed and Shan Mohammad, suffered head injuries in the attack. Gulshan’s jaw was broken due to a stone hitting her mouth.

The injured were rushed to the nearby Jag Pravesh Chand Hospital, where Gulshan is still undergoing treatment. On the complaint of both the families, the police registered a cross case and started an investigation.

Police Statement

The Welcome police station received information of the clash and reached the spot after the ruckus had stopped. The police team reached the hospital, where they learned that five people had sustained serious injuries, while three others had minor injuries. On the statement of Parvez, the police have registered a case under the section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, assault, assault and breaking teeth. On the other hand, on the statement of Javed, the police have registered a case of assault and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The incident highlights the need for proper parking management and the importance of resolving disputes peacefully.
