In an effort to promote renewable energy, the Government of India has launched a groundbreaking solar subsidy scheme that aims to provide free electricity for 20 years. This initiative, named the “Suryodaya Yojana,” will install solar panels on the rooftops of one crore houses across the country. Space Requirement for Solar Panels

To qualify for the subsidy, a permanent roof with at least 10 square meters of space is required for a 1 kW solar system. Proper installation by experts ensures optimal efficiency and can save users up to ₹72,000 annually on electricity bills.

Subsidy Details

The scheme offers substantial subsidies: ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹60,000 for a 2 kW system, and ₹78,000 for systems between 3 to 10 kW, making solar technology accessible to more households.

Application Process for New Solar Subsidy Scheme

Interested individuals can apply through the official scheme website, where they will need to provide their state, district, and electricity consumer number. Following site inspection and installation, subsidies will be processed within 30 days, paving the way for a greener future.
