Buses Resume Normal Operations After Mahakumbh
Buses in many cities are now running normally after being affected by the Mahakumbh festival. Until Mauni Amavasya, many buses, including those from Lucknow, were canceled as they were redirected to Prayagraj to accommodate the large crowds attending the event.
Buses from depots like Kaushambi, Sahibabad, Awadh, and Noida were primarily focused on transporting passengers to Prayagraj. Meanwhile, buses from other cities, including Delhi, began their journeys from the Alambagh bus stand in Lucknow.
Due to the overwhelming number of passengers traveling for the religious bathing event, many travelers faced difficulties in reaching their destinations. As a result, some had to rely on private buses to complete their journeys.
However, the transportation system has now returned to its previous state. Passengers at the Noida depot expressed relief over the improved bus availability. One passenger, Ambuj, mentioned that just a week ago, it was challenging to find a bus to Lucknow. Now, the information counter reports that buses are available frequently.
Another passenger, Kailash Singh, who was waiting for a bus to Gorakhpur, noted that getting a bus has become easier than before.
The Regional Manager of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation for Gautam Budh Nagar, Manoj Kumar, confirmed that special buses for the Kumbh are still operating, providing about 20 buses for passengers from the Noida depot. He assured that there are no significant issues for bus services in other cities either.
