Bulldozer Action in Ghaziabad
In Ghaziabad, the Municipal Corporation has initiated a campaign to remove encroachments in Indirapuram. This action started today, following instructions from Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Malik. The Additional Municipal Commissioner, Arun Kumar Yadav, held a meeting with the team to outline the plan for this three-day campaign.
Details of the Campaign
The campaign will take place over three days, from January 29 to 31. Additional Municipal Commissioner Yadav mentioned that a team consisting of construction, health, garden, and zonal in-charges will be involved in this operation. The campaign will occur daily between 2 PM and 5 PM, focusing on clearing main roads of street vendors, government land encroachments, and the occupation of green belt parks. Additionally, action will be taken against randomly parked vehicles in the area.
Local Concerns
Residents of Indirapuram have expressed their concerns regarding persistent encroachments. They have been vocal about their frustrations, leading to local demonstrations against the Municipal Corporation.
In another pressing issue, around five thousand residents of the Justice Section in Indirapuram are facing severe problems due to sewer overflow for the past three months. Despite repeated complaints, the Municipal Corporation has not resolved this issue, causing waterlogging on the roads and making it difficult for people to leave their homes.
Local residents Kuldeep Saxena and Ajit Kumar highlighted that since their area came under the Indirapuram Municipal Corporation, issues have only worsened. They pointed out that the sewer lines have not been cleaned for months, leading to blockages and the overflow of dirty water onto the streets. This has resulted in unpleasant odors and unhygienic conditions, significantly impacting the quality of life for those living in the area.
Conclusion
As the Municipal Corporation begins its encroachment removal campaign, residents hope that their other pressing concerns, like the sewer overflow, will also receive prompt attention. The effectiveness of the campaign and the response to the sewer issues will be closely watched by the local community.
