BSNL, the government telecom company, is set to surprise its users by discontinuing three of its budget recharge plans next month. These plans fall under the “Plan Voucher” category and will no longer be available starting from 10 February 2025.

Network Improvements

In recent efforts to enhance its services, BSNL has activated over 65,000 4G mobile towers. This move comes after a rise in users when private telecom companies increased their tariffs in July last year. However, a recent report from TRAI indicates that BSNL has faced a decline in its user base, prompting the decision to close these three affordable recharge options.

Users Notified via SMS

A BSNL user shared a screenshot of an SMS alert they received from the company. The message stated: “Dear customers, plan vouchers 201, 797, and 2999 are being closed from 10.02.2025. For information about other vouchers, please download the Selfcare App and get a 2% discount on recharge. Thank you.”

These three plans offer various benefits and validity periods, with some lasting up to 365 days.
