He informed by tweeting that the state government will give a monthly pension of Rs 2,750 to unmarried men and women in the age group of 45 to 60 years. Individuals with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh will benefit from this pension. Widower men aged 40-60 years, with an annual income of less than 3 lakhs, will also be eligible for the pension.
CM Khattar Took the Decision on the Advice of a 60-Year-Old Man
A 60-year-old unmarried man demanded pension during a public dialogue program attended by CM Manohar Lal Khattar. In response, CM Khattar announced the pension scheme for unmarried individuals. The scheme will benefit unmarried men and women between 45 to 60 years of age. However, the pension will only be given to those with an annual income of less than 1.80 lakh.
Linkage to Deteriorating Sex Ratio
Some experts are linking this pension scheme to the deteriorating sex ratio in Haryana. Over the past 10 years, there has been an improvement of about 38 points in the sex ratio, with an increase from 879 girls per 1000 boys in 2011 to 917 girls per 1000 boys in 2023.
