New Government Formation in Delhi
After the BJP secured a majority in Delhi, all eyes are on the formation of the new government. The BJP’s Legislature Party is expected to announce its leader soon. Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda held a meeting to discuss this crucial step.
Discussions in Parliament
Their meeting lasted about an hour at the Parliament House, focusing on the formation of the new government and cabinet. It has been decided that the Delhi government will be formed after February 16. On that day, there will be a meeting of the Legislature Party to elect the party leader.
Meeting with Newly Elected MLAs
Earlier today, JP Nadda also met with 10 newly elected MLAs from Delhi at the Parliament House. The MLAs who attended this meeting included Anil Sharma, Shikha Rai, Satish Upadhyay, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Vijendra Gupta, Ajay Mahawar, Rekha Gupta, Dr. Anil Goyal, Kapil Mishra, and Kulwant Rana. Some of these MLAs are likely to be included in the new cabinet.
BJP’s Seat Victory
In the recent elections, the BJP won a total of 48 out of 70 seats, while the AAP managed to secure only 22 seats. As the BJP prepares to form the government, the AAP is busy selecting its Leader of Opposition. Four names are currently being discussed for this important role, with a focus on choosing someone capable of effectively challenging the BJP in the assembly.
