Ather Energy Sees Surge in Sales Amid Competitive Market
According to Vahan’s sales data, Ather Energy recorded an average of 11,287 unit sales between July and September 2024. Retail sales figures showed 10,211 units in June, 10,987 units in August, and 12,692 units in September. The company’s growth was bolstered by an expanded network and the rollout of the Rizta model, priced starting at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Ather is gradually gaining ground against competitors such as TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
Despite a downturn in the first half of the year, Ather’s sales surged, with 16,508 units sold from April to June (Q1 FY2025). This is significantly lower than the 35,895 units sold between January and March 2024. March remains the best month for Ather this year, with 17,422 units sold, before the government subsidy on e-scooters expired.
Market Dynamics Shift as Ola Electric Faces Decline
Ather’s growth contrasts with market leader Ola Electric, which saw its market share dip below 30% last quarter, down from nearly 50% in April. Meanwhile, Bajaj has overtaken TVS to secure the second spot in September sales, although Ola remains the top seller, with competition intensifying.
